Your Country Golf Course in Dublin
Two Championship Golf Courses

Roganstown Hotel and Country Club boasts two Championship golf courses, Roganstown Golf Course and Swords Open Golf Course.

Roganstown Golf Course

Designed by the great Christy O’Connor Jnr., this challenging course is set on a beautiful landscape with meandering water hazards adding an aesthetic quality to the course. Roganstown plays as well as it looks with a variety of holes that have been designed to put golfers of all abilities to the test and to maximize your overall golfing experience.

Located only 10 minutes’ drive from Dublin Airport, we regularly attract international visitors and corporate groups. Both golf courses are set within the main hotel resort and share the same facilities; in fact, the first holes for both courses are adjacent to each other!

Have a browse around our well-equipped pro-shop where you can purchase the latest in golf attire, shoes, golf supplies, snacks, drinks and more. After your game return to the 19th hole at O’Callaghan’s Bar, where an extensive menu of bar food is served daily, and you can relay the events of your round over a well-deserved drink!

Swords Open Golf Course

Swords Open Golf Course is an 18-hole parkland course on relatively flat terrain. The Broadmeadow River flows through the course and the naturally occurring water has been well used in the design of the course and the provision of strategically placed water hazards and features.

We proudly hosted the Irish PGA Southern Championship 2007, 2008 & 2009.

Our Course Superintendent, Colm McGuinness, and his staff keep the course in pristine condition all through the year. Much has been invested in drainage over the years and so Swords Open Golf Course is very playable all year round and is constantly complimented by regulars and guests.

We have a Putting/Chipping Green and practice nets for warming up before your round.

Celebrating 25 Years

History

Denise McLoughlin built Swords Open Golf Course 27 years ago as a pay and play facility on part of the family farm at Roganstown. In 1996 Swords Golf Club was founded and since then Swords Golf Club has operated out of the Coillte Log Cabin Clubhouse on Balheary Avenue.

In 2004 the family engaged Christy O’Connor Jnr. to design the Roganstown Course on the rest of the farm and the Georgian Country House homestead was converted to a 52 bedroom hotel, with function rooms, restaurant and bars, and a state-of-the-art leisure centre.

The members bar for Roganstown Golf Club is housed within the hotel complex. Where many other clubs have been forced to curtail their food and beverage operations due to the downturn, Roganstown has continued to offer members food and beverage service from 7 am till late 7 days per week.

The Broadmeadow river flows through the land and water is a feature on many holes. There are rich gravel deposits underground at Roganstown which means that drainage is spectacular and both courses are playable 365 days of the year.

Located in Swords, Co. Dublin and just four miles from Dublin airport the courses have hosted the Irish PGA Southern Championship in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and the Irish PGA Championship in 2013 and the Roganstown Course was the first venue in Ireland to host a EuroPro Tour Event in 2006.

From January 2006 it was decided to close the Swords Club house and rehouse the Swords Golf Club Members in the same clubhouse facilities as the Roganstown Club. The Swords Golf Course was rerouted so that the first hole on both courses are adjacent to one another.

The combined complex offers all members and guests access to 2 courses, extensive practice facilities, state of the art leisure centre and clubhouse facilities that are the envy of any club.
